MAXX control of loudness
Digital Wide Dynamic Range Compression (dWDRC) is a proven processing strategy that applies gain depending on the loudness of the incoming sound. With more gain for soft inputs and less for loud inputs, the correct loudness is assured - in every situation. MAXX also uses "soft squelch" to eliminate microphone noise and other ambient sounds. This means that wearers have less need to use the volume control since gain is applied only when needed, automatically. MAXX is a truly comfortable and easy-to-wear solution.
MAXX comfort in noise
The MAXX digital Noise Canceler automatically reacts whenever environmental noise is present. The background noise is reduced, while the important peaks of speech are preserved. The strain of a noisy environment is eliminated and your clients can enjoy the whole range of auditory situations, comfortably. MAXX 211D features an additional directional microphone for an increased speech intelligibility.
MAXX feedback control
Feedback can cause wearers to lose confidence in a fitting very quickly. Therefore, feedback management systems must offer a fast and effective solution. Phonak feedback management technology has been optimized to complement MAXX six-channel processing. This innovative system measures the feedback threshold and effectively eliminates feedback, while preserving overall audibility. One click in the fitting software is all that is required for this fast and accurate feedback solution with immediate results.
MAXX digital signal processing
MAXX processes sound in six independent channels. The frequency response is automatically shaped to match a whole range of audiometric configurations accurately. The parameters also can be adjusted individually in each channel should this be necessary.
MAXX battery life
Continually having to change batteries is inconvenient and expensive. MAXX has very low working battery current drain. This means each battery lasts longer. When the battery is low, a convenient warning beep signals the need for a fresh battery.

With PowerMAXX, Phonak has succeeded in integrating maximum digital gain and output into a miniaturized housing. Five independent channels allow the instruments to adapt precisely to meet changing audiometric configurations as more detail on the loss becomes available. DSL [i/o] is the ideal fitting formula for children who cannot yet describe what they are hearing. By adding the child's age into the fitting software, the latest age-specific RECD data is applied to enable the age-appropriate corrections.
BassBoost
An intelligent, automatic boost feature which offers extended low frequency amplification - if and when needed. This selective use of the BassBoost saves valuable battery power.

PowerMAXX offers a choice of signal processing strategies:digital Wide Dynamic Range Compression (dWDRC) and digital Super Compression (dSC), which is particularly useful for wearers with long-term hearing instrument experience.
Fitting choices
The Phonak Digital Power+ fitting formula provides optimal audibility and spontaneous acceptance, without feedback, for this user group. In order to meet individual preferences PowerMAXX has a host of optional fitting strategies including DSL [i/o] and NAL NL1.
